The project’s visuals were painted against this fresh and ambitious new backdrop. As I reflected on it all, some of the questions that naturally arose for me were: “How do you reimagine Paapa Versa without veering too far off his core essence? How do you capture a fresh new beginning while still honoring his past glory? How do we translate the same energy across the different visuals yet have each one remain unique?” I mulled over such thoughts as I worked on the cover art for the album and for every single single that was released. Beyond this, Paapa also requested my input on both the then-unreleased music and their accompanying music videos. Although I found it quite flattering initially, I did what was asked and learned from it too, as it pushed me to be more discerning and more mindful when it comes to making art for music.
