The project’s visuals were painted against this fresh and ambitious new backdrop. As I reflected on it all, some of the questions that naturally arose for me were: “How do you reimagine Paapa Versa without veering too far off his core essence? How do you capture a fresh new beginning while still honoring his past glory? How do we translate the same energy across the different visuals yet have each one remain unique?” I mulled over such thoughts as I worked on the cover art for the album and for every single single that was released. Beyond this, Paapa also requested my input on both the then unreleased music and their accompanying music videos. Although I found it quite flattering initially, I did what was asked and learned from it too, as it pushed me to be more discerning and more mindful when it comes to making art for music.
