AFROSCOPE

WHAT IF I HAVE NOTHING MORE TO GIVE?

What if I have nothing more to give
And waiting to die is the only reason I live?
Running on empty
Vacant state mentally
The darkness, the darkness—it tempts me

Now I’m drawn in
Now I’m drowning
Gripped in a lumbar stiffening embrace
Careening dizzily to The End
Nowhere left to go but in

So we go there, within; dwelling
In silent communion with nothingness
Accepting the inevitable hopelessness
Seeing despair despair
Watching fate taunt
Waiting for me to fall again
